Key Responsibilities- Managing claims from notification to closure, investing the necessary level of involvement required for each claim depending on the nature, category, maturity, type and value of the claim.
- Following at all times IGI UK's Claims Reserving Philosophy and Claims Standards.
- Developing, documenting, communicating and executing claims strategies taking into account uncertainties, key decisions, potential outcomes and estimated associated costs.
- Reviewing individual claims within the portfolio and keeping reserves and records up to date as required by IGI UK's claims controls and standards.
- Identifying issues and trends in the portfolio and taking appropriate and/or corrective action.
- Keeping Finance advised of any material claims as set out in the claims authority, protocols and procedures.
- Providing input to underwriters on review of potential or existing insured's claims experience.
- Reporting and analysing claims trends and developments and their potential impact on the book.
- Operating within approved claims authority at all times.
- Having thorough working knowledge of industry regulations and minimum standards to ensure compliance with the regulations and IGI UK's claims and underwriting control standards and protocols.
- Understanding and implementing as appropriate IGI UK's "Treating Customers Fairly" policy as it relates to IGI UK's claim's function.
- Attend external events to network in the market and to continue to build the IGI brand.
- Working closely with the Underwriters and the Claims team in London and Amman as necessary
- Assisting the Professional and Financial Lines Claims Manager in day-to-day claims administration.
- Degree level education or equivalent preferable. A Levels required as a minimum.
- A minimum of 1 years' claims handling or related experience in the insurance industry working within Professional Indemnity and/or Financial Institutions lines of business. London market experience preferred. Any experience of D&O claims is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of using ECF2 system is desirable.
- A willingness and ability to represent IGI at third party meetings and events.
- A keen interest in own self professional development. Willingness to work towards CII qualifications, as well as regularly attending training events to continue their own professional development.
- General computer literacy (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc).

- Strong team player who is also able to work on own initiative within authority limits.
- Excellent attention to detail in order to maintain accuracy of data and file records.
- Customer focused, providing excellent customer service skills both internally to the team and to Underwriters, as well as externally, with clients.
- The candidate needs to be a self-starter, who can manage high volumes during busy periods, has the ability to take and execute instructions and meet deadlines. Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks, especially during busy periods.
