The Venue
OVO Arena Wembley is one of the UK's most iconic concert and events venues. With a history that stretches back to its days as the Empire Pool and Sports Arena, it has hosted everything from the 1948 and 2012 Olympics to unforgettable performances by some of the world's greatest artists. For more than 60 years, legends like Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, David Bowie, Cher, Michael Jackson, Madonna and ABBA have all taken to our stage, making the 12,500-capacity Arena a place where history is made.

About The Role
The Assistant Event Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering events at the venue, acting as the main link between internal teams, event organizers, promoters, and external contractors. This role ensures that events are executed successfully from confirmation to completion while maintaining high standards of client and customer service, health and safety compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing events according to the venue's calendar.
  • Liaising with internal departments (ticketing, technical, security, front-of-house) and external stakeholders (clients, contractors, sponsors, statutory agencies).
  • Preparing event plans, risk assessments, and security assessments.
  • Acting as Duty Manager during events, making key operational decisions and managing emergencies if required.
  • Ensuring safety compliance, crowd management, and smooth operational delivery.
  • Supporting revenue maximization through cost control and additional income opportunities.

We Are Looking For Someone With

  • Experience in event management/operations in music, entertainment, conference, or leisure venues.
  • Experience with front-of-house management, crowd control, and basic production.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • IOSH Managing Safety certification preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, including evenings and weekends.
  • Team player who thrives in fast-paced environments.
