Finance Manager – Sole Charge Role | Hybrid (Nottingham)

Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – 2 days from home)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Permanent | Full-Time (37.5 hours, Mon–Fri, flexible start/finish)

We are working exclusively with an Innovative organisation based in Nottingham who are seeking to appoint an ambitious Finance Manager who thrives in an environment where they can truly make their mark.

This is an exciting opportunity to be the finance lead in an innovation-focused property business, where you'll have full ownership of the finance function and the freedom to shape processes, systems, and strategy from the ground up.

The Role

As the sole finance professional in the business, you'll take the lead on all day-to-day and strategic finance activities — from managing the numbers to designing robust financial processes that will underpin the company's continued growth.

You'll be responsible for:

Setting up and developing finance policies, procedures, and systems.

Overseeing all financial operations – including management accounts, budgeting, cashflow, VAT, and payroll.

Preparing monthly management reports, board packs, and shareholder updates.

Producing and reconciling P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow forecasts.

Managing intercompany transactions, accruals, and prepayments.

Supporting the business with financial planning, control, and compliance.

Acting as a trusted partner to the leadership team, providing insight to guide decision-making.

About You

We're looking for a self-motivated, capable "all-rounder" who's comfortable taking ownership of the full finance lifecycle — someone who can move seamlessly between the detail and the bigger picture.

AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent experience)

Strong all-round finance experience across management accounts, reporting, VAT, and payroll

Confident setting up processes, systems, and controls from scratch

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Hands-on, adaptable, and able to prioritise in a fast-moving environment
