We are looking for a

Some of your main duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the maintenance of the company's accreditation results
  • Maintaining the upkeep of the laboratory, consumables and the equipment
  • Mixing & controlling solutions for testing
  • Coordinating submission of samples to third party laboratories or customers
  • Supporting Technical Administrator with KPO Technical inbox queries
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation relating to product safety and legality in conjunction with the HoT / QA Manager
  • Conducting internal audits to schedule, highlighting any non-conformances, investigating and following up on corrective actions to ensure satisfactory closure e.g. GMP audits, fabrication & glass & hard plastic audits
  • Supporting the QAM/HoT with audits e.g. document retrieval and traceability
  • Laboratory testing of oils for the food and cosmetic industries using both traditional chemistry techniques e.g. titration and analytical equipment
  • Generate and distribute Certificates of Analysis to customers
  • Shelf-life testing of raw materials and finished products
  • Support the dischargers as required with testing & discharging (refined oils)
  • Working with the QA team to ensure sampling schedules are maintained
  • Other duties required by the Head of Technical

Skills & Experience Required

You'll succeed if:

You have

  • Experience working in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing environment, ideally food based
  • Experience of working to an accredited quality standard such as BRCGS, ISO9001, or ISO22000
  • Knowledge of Laboratory techniques
  • Desirable qualifications: Level 2 HACCP, Level 2 Food Hygiene and internal auditing
  • Must be able to demonstrate a mind-set that easily lends itself to continuous improvement techniques combined with a can do attitude.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate across all organisational functions and levels.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of Microsoft Office with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to successfully influence both cross functionally and vertically to ensure effective and timely resolution to any issues that may arise.
  • Ability to identify priorities and co-ordinate workload to ensure all customers are supported and serviced in accordance with KPI requirements.
  • Knowledge of factory processes, HACCP and quality systems, auditing processes, legal requirements, traceability systems, and audit trails.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

  • Quality systems management in a BRC or ISO9000 environment: 1 year (preferred)
