The Role The Data Analytics & Prognostics Chapter aims to empower engineers to make data-driven decisions by providing accessible, reliable data and delivering insightful analytics to squads across the organisation. The team develops methods and tools that leverage the data collected off Fleet and Customer vehicles, supporting improvements to Powertrain features and systems that will ensure an expectational experience for customers. In this role, you will work with engineering teams in EP to understand their key questions and identify problem statements which could be solved using advanced analytics or the automation of process. You will work with senior analysts to identify, analyse and interpret trends in complex data sets and utilise statistics and basic modelling techniques, to generate insights into our systems and how customers operate their vehicles. As a member of the Chapter, you’ll support the development of new methods and tools, use best practice techniques and continuous improvement. Area of Responsibility Understand data requirements of stakeholders Use statistical techniques to deliver robust and accurate results, considering variable data quality, and clearly communicate conclusions and insights to stakeholders Create data visualisations and dashboards utilising tools such as Tableau Ensure customer privacy is protected at every stage of data analysis Contribute to knowledge sharing and the continual improvement of the team’s technical capabilities, and collaborate with the wider data community to ensure the team works with the latest technology, techniques and best practices Work within the Squad’s Agile Framework and working process Knowledge / Experience Experience in Data Engineering, Analysis or Science and/or within an Engineering field, particularly automotive Practical application of SQL or Python, with knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS Ability to structure, analyse and interpret data Understanding of data visualisation principles, with experience of using tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc. Excellent interpersonal skills Automotive experience. Understanding in propulsion systems, hybridisation and vehicle delivery framework. Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred Knowledge of electromechanical systems within automotive engineering, including vehicle networks and diagnostics Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma) Experience of project delivery within an Agile/Scrum framework Awareness of data governance principles, including an understanding of regulations such as GDPR and Privacy by Design, for handling customer data Benefits Pension Scheme – We match employee contribution up to 5% of salary Tata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme - up to 20% off new JLR vehicles Health Assured – Employee Assistance Program Health Shield – Private Health Cash Plan If you are passionate about bringing innovation to the projects you work on and want to join a global company, then this is the place for you.
