Finance Business Partner

This is an exciting opportunity to work on an organisation-wide transformation programme, collaborating closely within a cross-functional team. This role reports to the workstream lead.

As Admiral has grown, so has the complexity in its organisational structure, processes, and platforms. This programme aims to analyse these areas across the business and identify opportunities for efficiency.

The Finance Business Partners will be vital members of the team, owning the monitoring and governance of in-flight efficiency initiatives and ensuring the team has the input necessary to develop actionable insights for senior leadership. They will lead coordination with their assigned functional areas and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders to gather information and validate findings.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with change initiatives. To be successful, you should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent stakeholder management, and experience or familiarity with HR concepts.

Main Duties:

  • Develop a deep understanding of ongoing functional initiatives, their trajectory, drivers, risks, and dependencies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and own relationships with stakeholders within your assigned function.
  • Monitor and analyse the downstream impact of initiatives, identifying variances and opportunities.
  • Advise the team on risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Own functional data and support collaboration with Finance and HR teams to ensure alignment.
  • Prepare monthly progress updates to support governance and executive reporting.
  • Proactively align key stakeholders across functional areas.
  • Resolve complex issues that arise when working across different areas of the business, each with its own set of challenges and opportunities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with both structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to use partial data sets to support directionally correct analysis.
  • High degree of personal initiative, commitment, and ability to work under time pressure.
  • Experience with financial statements and modelling.
  • Curious mindset with a drive to dig deeper behind the figures to uncover key drivers.
  • Comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to act as a critical friend for assigned areas, advising on and validating data and information.
  • Willingness to proactively engage stakeholders and seek alternative solutions to drive progress.
  • Openness to exploring best practices beyond Admiral.
  • Experience in a Financial Services organisation is essential.

Please note: This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Cardiff office twice per week.

2 Stage Interview - 1st stage on Microsoft Teams, 2nd stage in our Cardiff office.
