Please do not contact the recruiter directly.Private Markets European Investment Director - LondonAs the growth of Mercer's Delegated Solutions business accelerates, an exciting opportunity has emerged to join the Alternatives Investment Director team. The team is responsible for managing the >$40bn private market and hedge fund mandates through the Mercer platform and advising on over $170bn of mandates globally. The primary role of the Investment Director team is to support our European clients with their allocations to private markets, including strategic advice on allocations to each private market asset class, as well as ongoing review and management of their private market commitments.Reporting to the Alternatives Investment Leader for Europe, the Investment Director will be responsible for supporting discussions with European clients and prospects regarding portfolio construction and manager selection, as well as supporting implementation discussions with clients and prospects across a variety of private market asset classes.We Will Count On You ToWork closely with our team of Alternative Investment Directors and Private Market Asset Class teams to deliver our advice and solutions to clients and prospects across EuropeLiaise with our asset class teams to track new themes and opportunities in Private Markets as well as engaging with asset managers for their latest views and portfolio positioningSupport the delivery of our bespoke fund solutions to clients and prospects, particularly to the Wealth Management segmentSupport our sales and consulting colleagues in the marketing and communication of our private markets capabilitiesSupport large client relationships across Europe and take responsibility for delivering our advice on asset allocation, commitment sizing, portfolio planning and manager selection, as well as leading investment performance reviews and educational training.What You Need To HaveA wealth of investment management or senior investment consulting experience in a client-facing roleExperience as an investment consultant with private market expertise is preferableExperience working with the Wealth Management segment is plus but not a requirementStrong communication and presentation skills with previous background in managing large client relationships, ideally with part of that being in private marketsExperience in leading strategic, commercial and implementation discussions with clientsAbility to build strong working relationships with colleagues in multiple jurisdictionsCFA, CAIA (or equivalent investment qualification)What Makes You Stand OutStrong communication skillsProven ability to learn a new asset classAny prior experience advising clients on allocations to private marketsProfessional, disciplined and proactive approach to workStrong organisational and time management skillsThoughtful approach to problem solving and proactive attitudeWhy join us?We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leadersWe foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communitiesOur scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-beingMercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), is a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work and enhance health and retirement outcomes for their people.
