We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Manager for our Children's Residential Home. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and support to children with developmental disabilities. The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that all residents receive the best possible care in a safe and nurturing environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
Duties
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide direct support and supervision to staff members while promoting best practices in caregiving.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each resident.
- Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Monitor and document residents' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to appropriate personnel.
- Facilitate behavior management strategies and provide emotional support to residents.
- Coordinate recreational activities that promote social interaction and skill development among residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the facility, ensuring a safe environment for all.
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.
- Train staff on emergency procedures, first aid techniques, and the use of EMR systems.
Qualifications
- Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes preferred.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or long-term care experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
- First aid certification is required; CPR certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in medication administration practices and understanding of vital signs monitoring.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while providing compassionate support.
- Experience with Hoyer lifts or similar assistive devices is beneficial.
