Overview
We are currently seeking a Pricing Analyst to join Pen's established Insight & Pricing team. This role will focus on supporting underwriters in our Commercial UK & Ireland Division, covering Commercial Property, Casualty, and Motor products. The primary responsibility will be to carry out actuarial pricing work to support the ongoing profitability of these products.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Deliver and maintain pricing and analytical solutions for Commercial Property, Casualty, and Motor products within the Commercial UK & Ireland Division.
  • Ensure products are on track to deliver target loss ratios and recommend initiatives to enhance underwriting profitability.
  • Produce Management Information (MI) to support underwriters in making strategic decisions regarding their products.
  • Measure the impact of underwriting actions, rate changes, renewal retention, and new/lost business.
  • Support the collection and maintenance of data for relevant products, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to data governance procedures.
  • Communicate and present actuarial work to underwriters and external parties, primarily insurers.

About You

  • Progressing with actuarial qualifications (or able to demonstrate actuarial knowledge through experience).
  • Understanding of standard actuarial reserving and pricing techniques.
  • Experience in pricing Commercial Property, Casualty, or Motor products (exposure to some or all product classes is acceptable).
  • Clear communicator with experience presenting to underwriters.
  • Experience with the following software is beneficial but not essential:SQL, Python, Power BI & Emblem
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, particularly in identifying potential issues with data.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
