Are you caring, calm and passionate about giving babies the very best start in life? Our Baby Bears team is expanding, and we're looking for a nurturing Baby Room Practitioner to join our wonderful family at The Old Forge Day Nursery.

About Our Baby Bears Room

Leaving a baby as you return to work is never easy – that's why our Baby Bears room is built around love, safety and home-like comfort. Our team are early years experts, supporting every stage of development: sleep, feeding, weaning, early communication, movement and play. We work closely with families to keep routines consistent, ensuring every little one feels secure, understood and cherished.

The Baby Bears environment is soft, cosy and sensory-rich, filled with textures, sounds, toys and visual aids that spark curiosity and help growing brains flourish. Babies explore messy play and crafts – from hand and foot painting to sensory trays – and spend time outdoors every single day. Whether it's garden play or gentle village walks, fresh air is part of our rhythm.

Our dedicated Baby Bears cabin includes peaceful bunk-bed cots for restful naps and direct access to a calm outdoor play area. It's the perfect space for little ones to rest, explore and grow.

We take hygiene seriously too – with sterilised toys, steam-cleaned floors and meticulous routines that keep our tiniest explorers safe.

What You'll Do

As a Baby Room Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide warm, responsive care that mirrors a home-from-home environment
  • Support babies through key development stages with thoughtful planning and EYFS-led practice
  • Build strong bonds with families, sharing daily updates and celebrating milestones together
  • Create rich sensory, creative and outdoor learning opportunities
  • Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and safeguarding
  • Work collaboratively with our skilled Baby Bears team

What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or working towards one)
  • A genuine love of working with babies
  • Patience, warmth and a nurturing approach
  • Understanding of the EYFS and child development
  • Excellent communication skills and a team mindset
