£14.00 per hour - Contracted hours 165 hours per month
with sleep rates paid £60 per night
Job Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to individuals, particularly children, ensuring their well-being and development. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, fostering a supportive environment, and promoting independence. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist children with daily activities, including personal care and social integration.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and any changes in behaviour or health.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide transportation as needed, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities that promote their development.
- Support families by providing guidance and resources related to childcare and development.
Skills
- Awareness of the needs of children & young people
- Knowledge of the Children Act
- Knowledge of the Quality Standards
- Understanding the purpose and function of residential care
- Understanding of Equal Opportunities
- Understanding of the impact of abuse, neglect and trauma on children and young people
- Full driving licence.
- Knowledge of IT, including use of E-mail, the internet and keeping electronic records.
- Good interpersonal/social skills
- Dependable, organised, and structured
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Ability to produce written reports and maintain clear, concise, complete, and correct records

Ability to adapt to 24-hour rota's which will include, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in.
