Ringwood Day Nursery is looking for a Nursery Chef or experienced cook to join our friendly and happy team. We'd love to hear from you if you are a team player, enthusiastic about planning and providing healthy and nutritious food for children and you have the following skills/knowledge:

  • Experience of working in a kitchen
  • A food safety qualification
  • High levels of organisation
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of managing allergies and intolerances
  • A relevant catering qualification and experience of managing budgets is desirable but not essential.

This is a wide and varied role but as an overview you will:

Provide a nutritious and well-balanced diet for the children.

Ensure children's dietary needs, particularly serious allergies, are met.

Contribute to the menu development, adhering to the 'home cooked' food ethos.

Manage the weekly food ordering and stock rotation/control.

Maintain high standards of hygiene.

Adhere to food hygiene policies, standard operating processes and legislation.

Salary is based on experience, qualifications, and the suitability of the successful candidate.

Successful applicants will be subject to our safer recruitment pre-employment process which includes an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

·Previous experience in a similar role

·A team player

·A positive attitude

·Effective communication skills

·Knowledge of basic health and safety and food safety

·Willingness to undertake further training as required

·Ability to undertake all physical aspects of the position

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

·Previous experience of working in a childcare setting

·Knowledge of safeguarding and first aid.

·Catering qualification.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £15.38 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
