We are the only company in the West of Essex working with Essex County Council on Individual Service Funds, giving individuals more flexibility and choice in the delivery of care.

We are looking for staff to work with young adults in Great Dunmow (and the surrounding areas) who require 24 hour care. It is essential that you are a car driver as the individuals you'll be caring for are active members of the local community, volunteering in various roles, attending various activities, days out, holidays and educational programmes.

Full training will be provided, including Oliver McGowan Tier 1 and Tier 2, face-to-face First Aid Training and much more.

As a support worker at Learning and Support Services you will be part of an existing team that has been rated OUTSTANDING for the care element by CQC (rated overall Good).

Learning and Support Services was established in 2017, and in that time we have worked closely with Essex Social Services, Hertfordshire County Council and ICBs (Integrated Care Boards) to ensure we provide a high level of support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism within their homes. Due to working in some remote locations, applicants must be car drivers with access to their own vehicles.

Our service promotes independence and autonomy. Working as part of our team or lone working, staff must be able to use their initiative to support individuals in our care to achieve their goals and live their daily lives safely. This is a rewarding role with support from the hands-on management team and the great existing team we already have.

Rotas are done based on the needs of individuals within our care, therefore flexibility is required. Staff are also required to work two weekends out of four.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

- Compassionate and caring nature.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

- Reliable car to travel to client's homes is essential. You may also be required to use a Mobility car when working.

Pay: £12.50-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 48 per week
