The Brotherswater Inn is a 7 bedroom country pub with adjoining camping park situated near picturesque Brotherswater; 3 miles from Patterdale and 6 miles from Ambleside.

We are looking for a permanent Head Chef to join our small team. We serve a varied menu to our clientele of mainly walkers, campers and families in our restaurant of 40 covers indoors with additional covers outdoors, depending on the weather. The vacancy would suit a passionate and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a traditional country pub. We are looking to expand and push forward our food offering. Good timekeeping and a friendly nature in addition to the ability and confidence to work alone are essential too.

If you like the outdoors this is a fabulous location to live and work as you can enjoy the beautiful lakes and walks straight from the door on your days off. Live-in accommodation is available if needed with a private bedroom and shared shower and kitchen facilities at a cost of £50.00 per week.

We are a family business with a hardworking and friendly team in place.

This position is available from late February 2026 with the start date being negotiable. The average working week would comprise of a mixture of split shifts covering breakfast, lunch (Saturdays and Sundays only) and dinner totalling approximately 45 hours over 5 days a week. Flexibility for times and days off is available for the right candidate.
