We are a family run End of Life Vehicle Centre and supplier of used car parts and have been servicing Liverpool and the North West for almost 40 years. We are currently recruiting a reception administrator to join our growing front of house team. You will be working alongside the main receptionist supporting them in thier role.

At Merton Car Dismantlers we provide a fast and friendly service our customers and provide excellent quality used car parts for their vehicle at a very competitive price. We also provide a free scrap car collection service to the people of Liverpool and the surrounding areas. Based on one of the main roads into Liverpool and the Docks, our motor recycling and dismantling scrap yard is well located on Hawthorne Road, Bootle.

The role – Customer and Reception Coordinator

This is an ideal opportunity for a car enthusiast with a friendly demeanour who wants to help us and our customers with their car parts and scrapping enquiries. The role would suit a person with experience in a receptionist/key front of house role an advantage the candidate will have mechanic or experience working in a garage, breakers yard, main dealership or similar environment.

The ideal candidate will:

· Have experience dealing with customers face-to-face and on the phone

· Bring excellent customer service skills

· Be able to multitask, prioritise and respond to different demands at any one time

· Be well organised

· Have experience managing social media posts and responding to customer queries online

· Have excellent time management skills, punctual and strong attendance record

· Be a clear communicator with good listening skills

· Be inquisitive and keen to develop their knowledge of cars, models, parts and all elements of the car dismantling and recycling process.

· Be trustworthy, reliable and self-motivated

· Be friendly with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and 'can-do' attitude to work

· Have a knowledge of cars, parts and mechanics (advantage)

· English and Maths GCSE

· Previous experience working in a parts department/garage (desirable)

The role will involve…

· Greeting customers who visit the yard in person, taking details of what they are looking for, relaying it to the yard staff and communicating back with the customer.

· Ensuring that customers who arrive to collect parts are seen to promptly.

· Listening to what the customers needs are and conveying the message to staff and responding to the customer promptly.

· Proactively seeking the detailed information by asking questions to customers to ensure the yard have full details of the vehicle (model, make, year) and the part can be described to the yard staff.

· Using our in-house walkie-talkie system to communicate with staff and relate enquire details to the yard for investigation.

· Take payments from customers by cash and card and maintain accurate records.

· Manage, upload and post to our social media sites and online platforms to encourage sales enquires on cars breaking, vehicles for sale and general customer interactions.

· Advertise parts on eBay, add cars that we are breaking and use initiative to increase online sales

· Record details of scrapped cars including customer and vehicle details on job sheets

· Issue Certificate of Destructions by creating records and accurately entering data on the online portal

Weekend working is required ( Alternate Saturdays as per rota)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.21-£12.81 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
