Aecon Nuclear currently is undertaking efforts to replace key components at the Darlington and Bruce Power plants as a part of each respective Life Extension Program to allow operation for another 40+ years. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, feeders, and steam generators as well as technical development, construction management and trade labour.

Aecon Nuclear is also currently at the forefront of the next generation of Nuclear Power in Canada by fabricating and constructing the first of a kind SMR facility in Darlington in addition to potential other new build large scale reactors among other exciting nuclear industry efforts across North America and Europe.

The Project Coordinator- Continuous Improvement supports the execution of continuous improvement initiatives across project teams, focusing on enhancing efficiency, quality, and performance. This role involves tracking progress, analyzing data, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and supporting the implementation of best practices to drive operational excellence.

What You'll Do Here

Provides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedulesControls expenditures within limitations of project budgetCoordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, turnover documents, etc.Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specificationsCoordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problemsEvaluates and recommends design changes, specifications and drawing releasesInterfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are metProvides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and managementAssists and monitors safety programs and statistics as requiredWrites and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documentsCoordinates all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, materials material tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the fieldActive involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and proceduresProvides estimating and project management back-up as requiredPerforms such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor/managerDevelop and write reports, business correspondenceOther duties as assigned

What You Bring To The Team

Post-secondary school education in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management disciplines; or acceptable combination of education and previous experienceA minimum of 1-3 years working as a Project Coordinator or equivalent role, ideally in project engineering or EPC environment (co-op placement experience will be considered)Proficient in software related to construction industry as required (e.g. Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, SAP etc.)Excellent Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Excellent analytical and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills
