We're proud to collaborate with leading pharmaceutical companies and top-tier academic institutions to push the boundaries of what's possible in life sciences.

About the Role: Technical Sales Specialist (UK)
We're looking for a driven and curious Technical Sales Specialist to help bring our groundbreaking technology to life science innovators across the UK. Location: UK

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

What you'll do:

  • Sales & Business Development: Own the full sales cycle—from identifying leads to closing deals—with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
  • Customer Success: Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring they're supported and informed as their needs evolve.
  • Product Expertise: Stay current on our platform's capabilities and communicate its value clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead Generation: Use a mix of outreach strategies (email, networking, events) to identify new opportunities and grow our presence.
  • Funnel Management: Grow and maintain qualified opportunities for near- and longer-term technology adoption within targeted market segments.
  • Account Mapping: Research and prioritize key accounts and decision-makers in your territory.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Industry Events: Represent Lightcast at conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build awareness and generate leads.

What we're looking for:

  • MSc or PhD in Biology, Immunology, or a related life sciences field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a customer-facing role (sales, business development, or similar).
  • Familiarity with techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, antibody discovery/development, or cell therapy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a passion for innovation.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60%) and a valid driver's license.

Why Join Lightcast?

  • Be part of a startup that's developing truly transformative life sciences technology.
  • Leverage your scientific background in a commercial role with real impact.
  • Gain hands-on experience and mentorship in a high-growth environment.
  • Work with a passionate, mission-driven team that values curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
