Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to food safety and quality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of taste and presentation while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
  • Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in all dishes.
  • Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Ensure proper food preparation techniques are followed to guarantee food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary skills, food safety practices, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage food costs effectively.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
  • Create a menu with approval of the managers that will attract new clientele and bring something different to our town.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent cooking skills with a focus on creativity and presentation.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
  • Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
