About The Role
Join our Facilities Management (FM) Team, and play a key part in ensuring the seamless, safe, and sustainable operation of our Waitrose Retail buildings. As an FM Service Support Manager, you will work closely with our Waitrose FM Service Delivery Lead to maintain exceptional standards, keeping our buildings safe, compliant, and running flawlessly. This collaborative role involves partnering with our branches to strategically align both Hard and Soft Facilities Management Services, driving us toward achieving critical annual financial, safety, and sustainability targets.

  • Salary - £46,500 - £73,500
  • Contract type - This is a permanent position.
  • Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office, home and other Partnership locations, based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business.
  • Location - This is a home worker contract, which will require up to 2 days a week to be spent visiting Waitrose branches in our East region (which covers approximately 180 branches from Norfolk to Scotland, including London). Due to the level of travel required, an essential use business car will be provided, and a full UK driving license is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the third party re: delivery of the planned and reactive maintenance work for your areas of responsibility
  • Ensure all compliance, safety and assurance and insurance requirements are delivered in a timely manner to keep the Partnership legally compliant and trading without risk or impact
  • Oversee the resolution of service escalations
  • Budgetary management of the revenue and capital spend for your area of responsibility
  • Accountability for key metrics and measures to track business benefit in support of the overarching strategy
  • Identify areas for improvement and opportunities for cost saving and innovation

Essential Skills/experience You'll Need

  • Experience of working in an FM delivery operational role, ideally within a Retail business or similar sector
  • Knowledge of implementing and managing maintenance systems to best practice standards. Can shape and influence maintenance delivery.
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding maintenance services or can demonstrate ability to do so
  • Commercial experience demonstrated through driving value for money
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable Skills/experience You May Have

  • RICS or IWFM (formerly BIFM) membership
  • Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
  • Experience of working client side with an outsourced service provider
  • Experience and understanding of service contracts including output specifications and performance mechanisms
