Gatwick England, United Kingdom Novo Nordisk Full time £60,000 - £90,000 per year

Digital & Social Media Communications Lead

Are you ready to shape how a leading global healthcare company connects with the world?

At Novo Nordisk, we're driving change to defeat diabetes and chronic diseases — and powerful storytelling plays a vital role in that mission. We're looking for a Digital & Social Media Communications Lead to bring creativity, strategy, and purpose together — managing our non-promotional digital presence and help to enhance Novo Nordisk's reputation across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced digital strategist who thrives at the intersection of innovation, compliance, and impact.

Your new role
As our Digital & Social Media Communications Lead, you will own the strategy, development, and execution of Novo Nordisk UK's social media and non-promotional digital campaigns. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive awareness of our disease areas, strengthen our reputation, and ensure all activity aligns with the ABPI Code of Practice.

You will:

  • Lead strategy: Develop and implement a forward-looking, innovative social media strategy and digital plan for UK non-promotional initiatives in line with industry best practice.
  • Drive engagement: Create impactful, compliant content and campaigns that enhance our online presence and reinforce our purpose of improving lives.
  • Champion innovation: Identify and integrate emerging digital trends to ensure relevance, creativity, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance and ethical standards: Create and execute comprehensive digital plans that adhere to the ABPI Code of Practice, setting clear expectations for compliance and ethical conduct across all activities.
  • Manage platforms: Oversee Novo Nordisk UK's digital channels and corporate web-sites, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and alignment with brand and global messaging.
  • Enhance reputation: Monitor sentiment, manage our online presence, and foster meaningful stakeholder engagement across all digital touchpoints.
  • Collaborate & optimise: Work closely with marketing, customer engagement, and corporate affairs teams to ensure unified messaging and continuous performance improvement.

Your new department
You will be part of the Corporate Affairs department, where we focus on maintaining and enhancing Novo Nordisk's reputation and relationships with external audiences. Located at our headquarters, the department is dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative. Our team is dedicated to addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges while promoting the organisation's image in a positive way. Join us and make a meaningful impact on our mission to im-prove lives.

Your Skills & Qualifications
You are a confident digital communicator with a strong understanding of compliance and reputation management — passionate about using digital storytelling to make an impact.

You bring:

  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing social media and digital campaigns, ideally within healthcare — however, we also welcome applications from professionals in FMCG, cosmetics, or other highly regulated sectors who bring strong consumer engagement experience.
  • Expertise in digital strategy, content creation, and platform management (experience with AEM ExtWeb preferred).
  • Strong understanding of reputation management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into engaging digital narratives.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver with precision and quality.
  • A strong commitment to transparency, compliance, and ethical communications.
