Are you ready to shape the future of AI at Smith+Nephew? We're looking for a visionary Senior AI Solution Architect to lead the design and development of intelligent solutions that transform how we work and serve our customers. If you thrive on innovation, collaboration and making a real impact, this is your opportunity to join a global team driving change.

We are seeking a highly technical AI professional who can act as an educator across S+N, focusing on AI architecture, governance, and model governance. The ideal candidate should have the ability to drive change and education around AI.

What will you be doing?

You'll be at the forefront of our AI strategy, working across business units to identify opportunities where AI can deliver real value. From designing scalable architecture blueprints to selecting the right tools and technologies, you'll guide the development of proof-of-concepts and help transition them into full-scale deployments. You'll collaborate with business and IT leaders to define standards, governance and architectural guardrails that ensure consistency, compliance and scalability. Over time, you'll build and lead a team of solution engineers and data scientists focused on delivering cutting-edge AI solutions.

What will you need to be successful?

Success in this role means being a trusted expert and a strategic thinker who can translate complex technical concepts into business value. You'll need:

  • A strong foundation in AI/ML technologies including GenAI, NLP, computer vision and automation, with hands-on experience in platforms like Palantir, Agentforce, Copilot and Azure Data Intelligence
  • Proven experience designing and implementing AI solutions across multiple domains, ideally within regulated environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage technical talent
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, plus relevant certifications in AI/ML tools
