Role Description

As a Timber Frame Contracts Manager, your primary responsibility will be the day-to-day management of timber frame installation on construction sites. You'll oversee multiple projects across various locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery from frame arrival to completion on site.

You'll work closely with erection crews, crane teams, site managers, and main contractors to ensure frames are installed to spec, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage timber frame erection across multiple live construction sites
  • Schedule and oversee erection crews, plant, and deliveries to meet programme milestones
  • Ensure all on-site activity complies with health & safety legislation and company standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Liaise with main contractors and client site teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth workflows
  • Maintain accurate records of site activity, variations, and incident reports
  • Monitor project costs and timelines, identifying and addressing any delays or overruns
  • Support crews with technical queries or construction challenges during installation
  • Ensure proper handling, protection, and installation of timber frame materials

What We're Looking For:

  • Solid experience in site or contracts management within timber frame or structural construction
  • Strong working knowledge of timber frame erection processes and lifting operations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple sites and teams effectively
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety (RAMS, LOLER, PUWER, etc.)
  • CSCS (Manager or above), SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Full UK driving licence (travel required between sites)

Desirable:

  • Background in carpentry, structural timber, or offsite construction
  • Appointed Person or Crane Supervisor certification
