A School near the Fobbing area (Southend-On-Sea) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of French to join their successful Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2026. The successful candidate will be passionate about promoting a love of language learning and committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).

The school is proud of its inclusive and supportive culture, where teachers and students work together to achieve high standards. The French department benefits from strong leadership, well-developed schemes of work, and a collaborative approach to curriculum planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective French lessons to students of varying abilities
  • Contribute to curriculum development and department planning
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation
  • Participate in wider school life, including meetings, training, and enrichment activities

The School Is Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or an ECT completing training
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence in teaching French up to GCSE (A-Level is an advantage)
  • A reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Someone who is positive, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with students and colleagues
