Pre-Sales Cloud Architect

We are seeking a
Senior Cloud Solution Architect – Presales
with deep expertise in
GCP
or
Azure
cloud transformation, migration, and modernization. This role focuses on
solutioning, bid management, strategic client engagement, and influencing cloud strategy
for UK Government and public sector clients. The ideal candidate combines
technical excellence, commercial acumen, and leadership skills
to drive cloud adoption at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Presales & Solutioning
- Lead
end-to-end presales activities
: discovery, solution design, scoping, estimation, RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and bid defense. - Define
win strategies
, value propositions, and solution differentiation to maximize success in competitive bids. - Conduct
client workshops, architecture walkthroughs, and executive briefings
, influencing C-suite and senior stakeholders. - Develop
cloud strategy and transformation roadmaps
aligned with client business outcomes and ROI. - Ensure presales solutions are
technically feasible and commercially viable
for delivery teams.
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Design
scalable, secure, cost-optimized cloud architectures
(GCP / Azure ).GCP remains preferrable - Lead cloud migration programs: application discovery, assessment, rehost/replatform/refactor, landing zone setup, data migration, and modernization.
- Provide guidance on
multi-cloud, hybrid, and cloud-native architectures
. - Implement
cloud governance, compliance, security, and cost-optimization principles
.
Thought Leadership & Innovation
- Drive
innovation initiatives
, PoCs, prototypes, and pilot programs to showcase new cloud capabilities. - Share
industry trends, technology benchmarking, and best practices
with clients and internal teams. - Represent Capgemini in
conferences, panels, webinars
, or industry forums related to cloud solutions.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor
junior architects, solution consultants, and presales teams
to strengthen cloud capabilities. - Lead technical reviews and ensure
consistency of architectural standards
across presales engagements.
Commercial & Client Advisory
- Contribute to
pricing strategies, TCO/ROI modelling, and budget estimations
for cloud proposals. - Advise clients on
strategic cloud adoption, modernization priorities, and long-term transformation planning
. - Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure
smooth handover and alignment between presales and execution
.
UK Government & Public Sector Compliance
- Ensure compliance with
UK Government security standards (NCSC), governance, procurement frameworks (G-Cloud), and data privacy regulations
. - Leverage prior experience in
UK Public Sector / Government / Council organizations
(HMRC, DWP, MoJ, NHS, London Borough Councils, etc.) to guide solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years IT experience, including
6–8 years in cloud architecture & presales leadership
. - Strong hands-on experience with
GCP or Azure services
: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Functions, IAM, VPC, Networking, Security. - Expertise in
end-to-end cloud migration methodologies
: discovery, assessment, rehost/replatform/refactor, landing zone setup, data migration, modernization. - Strong understanding of
cloud security, IAM, compliance, cost optimization, and enterprise-scale solution design
. - Proven experience in
presales activities
: proposals, SoW creation, solution cost modelling, and bid defense. - Excellent
client-facing and communication skills
, with ability to influence
C-suite and senior leadership
. - Experience guiding
enterprise clients on cloud strategy and digital transformation initiatives
.
Preferred Certifications
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect
- AWS/Azure Architect certification (advantageous)
- TOGAF or Cloud Security certifications
