We seek a skilled and empathetic candidate, who is passionate about helping people, ready to make a difference and thrives under pressure.

The shift pattern for this role has fixed shifts on Mon, Tue and Wed. There is also the opportunity for regular overtime on the Thu and Fri. This role is ideal for someone who would value additional work whilst maintaining some flexibility.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is able to think on their feet, prioritise workload and is confident when dealing with the public.

You will work within our busy and enthusiastic Patient Services Team, which is an integral part of the day-to-day running of the surgery.

Applicant Requirements

  • A passion for helping people
  • Excellent communication / telephone skills
  • IT skills (particularly IT booking system and email)
  • Resilience to work in a busy environment involving high call volumes
  • Customer service experience
  • Professionalism
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility
  • GSCE Maths / English or equivalent C or above

Previous experience in a similar role in general practice would be an advantage, but not essential, as training is provided.

Job Responsibilities

  • Call handling - managing queries and assisting patient in completing an online form
  • Triage - contacting and booking patients based on clinical triage
  • Admin tasks - prescriptions, change of address forms etc
  • Front desk - greeting and helping patients as they arrive at the surgery
  • Team working - effective collaboration to ensure completion of shared tasks

Working Requirements

  • We offer a set shift pattern on Part Time Hours (Mon, Tue, Wed)
  • Shifts Will Be a Mixture of 07:30 / 08:00 - 16:00 or 10:30 - 18:30
  • Total shifts = 3 Days per week
  • Total hours = 22.5 hours per week
  • Ad hoc overtime to cover absences
