The Offshore Wind Directorate works across government and the Scottish public sector to deliver offshore renewables in Scotland at a scale and pace which is sustainable and transformational for Scotland's Net Zero ambition, citizens, communities, environment and economy.
The Offshore Wind Deployment Policy Manager is a key role in the Offshore Wind Directorate. Part of a motivated and high-performing team, you will play a critical role in successfully delivering the Scottish Government's ambitious offshore wind and marine energy programmes. You will help enable the deployment of the offshore wind pipeline and resolve SG-owned policy issues related to deployment of offshore wind programmes.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of core offshore wind policy products, particularly the development of the updated Offshore Wind Policy Statement.
- Provide advice and briefing for SCS and Ministers on key issues relating to the deployment of offshore renewables in Scottish waters. This will also include overseeing the team to deliver high-quality timely responses to offshore wind related correspondence, including FMQs, Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulation requests, and briefing materials and speaking notes for ministerial and official level meetings.
- Develop effective, strong and consistent approach to engagement across teams in the Scottish and UK Government and with key industry stakeholders and developers, maintaining oversight of developments across the range of offshore renewables projects coming through the pipeline to inform intelligence gathering, policy development and advice to SCS and ministers.
