The Business Deployment Manager plays a critical role in driving the successful implementation of strategic initiatives across Customer Business operations. This role is responsible for translating business improvement plans into actionable deployment strategies that enhance customer experience, reduce demand, and improve operational efficiency.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, the post-holder will lead the coordination of change activities, ensuring seamless integration of new processes, systems, and ways of working. By fostering collaboration across internal teams and external partners, the Business Deployment Manager will ensure that deployments are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact on service quality and customer outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Support development of functional requirements, responsible for co-ordinating testing and responsible for training plans and strategies for the service experience improvement
  • Identify benchmark opportunities in Utilities and other business sectors
  • Provide input to the phased improvement/deployment plans across Energy Retail
  • Primary control point for all change requests, ensuring rigorous review and formal approval by the Front Office. Accountable for applying critical challenge where appropriate, safeguarding operational standards.
  • Ensure that any change requests impacting Front Office users are reviewed and approved by Front Office prior by key stakeholders
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure improvements impact required customer touch points
  • Evaluate options and recommend actions aligned with business specific objectives
  • Communicate deployment progress and critical service improvement information
  • Respond to complex contractual obligations/revisions, identification of risks/issues
  • Responsible for developing and managing the end-to-end plan for supplier tendering activities, including scheduling key milestones, aligning with business requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of all tender documentation
  • Accountable for coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, maintain compliance with procurement policies and regulatory standards, and oversee supplier communications throughout the tender process.
  • Ensure effective communication of all activities/risks/issues impacting SP or outsource partner(s), assisting with development of mitigating action plans where appropriate.
  • Work with the SP Operational Planning team to Ensure decisions by Outsource partners are communicated and impact assessed

What you'll bring

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) in Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing complex business change initiatives, and deployment planning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to facilitate, influence and present at senior levels.
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean Six Sigma) and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for managing plans, tracking actions, and producing reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing, coaching, and developing teams to achieve performance goals
