About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our care team. In this role, you will lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are provided to residents at all times. You will take responsibility for supervising and mentoring care staff, contributing to care planning, and ensuring that residents' needs are met with dignity, respect, and compassion.
You will work closely with the management team to support the smooth running of the care home and maintain compliance with care standards and procedures.
Reports to: Home Manager / Deputy Manager / Nurse
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily care needs of residents while promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior care staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.
- Carry out supervisions, appraisals, and shift leadership duties.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and adherence to care home policies.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Support the management team in maintaining regulatory and quality standards.
Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience in a senior care or team leader role.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Education and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards this qualification).
