Hopscotch play cafe are looking for a chef to work a range of daytime shifts both weekdays and weekends (c.4-5days per week). We are looking for someone who is confident in working solo in the kitchen (2 days per week), but can also work well with the Head Chef on the cafe's busiest days.

This is an attractive role which does not involve late nights with the cafe closing 5pm most days. The menu includes a range of breakfast and lunch meals and most weekends the venue is hired for parties/events, therefore the food is pre-ordered on those days as well operating a reduce brunch menu.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, has kitchen experience and has friendly attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food orders
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment
  • Assisting Head Chef with inventory and food ordering as needed
  • Helping maintain a positive work environment by keeping supplies in order
  • Maintain positive communication with management on food offering/menu options
  • Maintain knowledge of all menus
  • General end of day cleaning duties as well as kitchen clean/dishes throughout the day

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be friendly and enthusiastic about working in a busy cafe environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills to communicate with coworkers
  • Must have previous kitchen experience working alone
