We are seeking individuals to join the team in Older People & Stroke Service, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow G51 4TF
The post holder will assist the team in delivering care and organising structured, meaningful and therapeutic activities to aid the rehabilitation of patients. You will assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patients' social & leisure activities. You will organise and participate, alongside your team, in therapeutic leisure activities on a group and one to one basis.
You should have excellent communication and organizational skills and who can excel in a busy working environment.
You will assist patients with activities of daily living and assist the Registered Nurse and where appropriate other members of the Clinical Team to deliver patient care.
You Will
- co-operate with and maintain good relationships with other disciplines that are attending and treating our service users to maximise patient care and maintain good relationships
- Have an empathic approach to clients' carers and relatives and refer them to a trained nurse for any questions they may have on the clients' condition or for any suggestions or concerns that they wish to raise.
- You will preferably have had previous hospital experience in an acute setting, but not essential.
