Medical Advisor – UK & Ireland
Planet Pharma is seeking a Medical Advisor to lead the development and execution of the Medical Affairs Plan for migraine across the UK and Ireland. This role is pivotal in shaping medical strategy, driving scientific initiatives, and engaging with key stakeholders to improve patient outcomes. Reporting to the Therapeutic Area Lead – CNS, you will act as a trusted scientific partner and provide strategic and operational support to cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific & Technical Leadership
- Execute medical tactics and leverage best practices across the affiliate.
- Communicate complex scientific information credibly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with the scientific community through peer-to-peer exchange, research collaborations, and educational initiatives.
- Deliver therapeutic training and support to internal teams.
- Develop and implement medical education programs, symposia, and expert forums.
- Contribute to professional organizations and regulatory working groups.
- Provide scientific input for digital initiatives and content.
Medical Strategy & Therapy Leadership
- Translate global medical strategies into actionable country-level plans.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.
- Review and approve promotional materials for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
- Engage with Scientific Leaders and Key Decision Makers to drive impactful initiatives.
- Collect and communicate actionable insights to inform strategy.
- Support regulatory interactions and resolve queries effectively.
- Ensure ethical, balanced, and non-promotional scientific communication.
- Contribute to training content for sales teams and support therapy education.
Qualifications & Experience
- MD, PhD in health sciences, PharmD, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Medical Advisor or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines (ABPI Code of Practice), regulatory frameworks, and clinical research standards.
- Experience in neurology/migraine is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
