Breakbulk
Breakbulk (events) are the worlds leading events in the project cargo and breakbulk industries. The Breakbulk portfolio is made up of four events happening in the Middle East, Europe, America and Asia, that are recognised for bringing thousands of companies together to network, connect, and generate new business and strengthen existing relationships. It is a place where industry decision makers can connect to support the completion of global projects. Not just trade shows, but all Breakbulk events offer live content, education days, workshops and additional networking activities to get involved with.
JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Marketing Manager for the Breakbulk Portfolio that will be responsible for crafting and executing strategic marketing initiatives to enhance our market presence, drive lead generation, and ultimately contribute to revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop integrated marketing campaigns, leveraging various channels to effectively reach target audiences. Additionally, this role will analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for innovation.
This role sits within the Breakbulk marketing team, with this person also working closely with the central digital marketing team, sales team and content team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the creation of the Strategic Marketing Plan in line with the Event Development Plan, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and audience growth targets.
- Deliver the event marketing campaign ensuring targeted messaging and activity plans for each customer segment that drive profitable acquisition, retention, and customer experience.
- Manage and optimise campaign performance across all channels, including email, social, paid media, PR, partnerships, and website.
- Support Senior Marketing Executive with media partnerships, ensuring timely delivery of collateral, copy, and assets.
- Lead collaboration with internal teams (content, community, sales, digital, PR, design, and automation) to ensure all campaign activity supports commercial and event objectives.
- Track lead performance and conversions, providing insight to optimise activity and support sales targets.
- Oversee delegate registration campaigns, ensuring we deliver against registration and attendance targets.
- Copywrite and edit content for digital campaigns, email journeys, and website pages to effectively communicate event value propositions.
- Develop compelling marketing collateral such as brochures, presentations, and exhibitor/visitor materials.
- Partner with the editorial and content teams to repurpose industry stories, testimonials, and interviews into impactful marketing content.
- Work with digital and data teams to build and nurture segmented contact lists, ensuring CRM data integrity and continuous pipeline growth using tools such as HubSpot and Clay.
- Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance and ROI, providing actionable insights to improve results.
- Manage marketing budgets and schedules, ensuring activity is delivered on time, on brand, and within budget.
- Support the implementation of event themes and messaging across all marketing touchpoints to ensure a cohesive Breakbulk brand experience.
- Maintain strong internal communication and lead regular meetings to review activity, spend, and optimisation opportunities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum three years' experience of creating highly effective marketing plans.
- Practiced in managing and implementing all aspects of the marketing mix.
- Experience in stakeholder (internal and external) management.
- Experience in budget management, with an analytical, data-driven and highly structured approach to decision-making
- Results-focused, able to clearly demonstrate success via proven metrics
- Ability to deliver presentations clearly, and succinctly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups within the team, in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
- Experience of working within the events industry or key market sectors desirable.
- Degree in business or marketing desirable.
- Agile mindset and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
