Your role

This role will be critical in driving schedule improvement through excellence and consistency across regional construction projects by focusing on consistency, accuracy, integrity, governance, schedule tooling, schedule process optimisation, workflow efficiency, reporting, automation, and Production Control. The ideal candidate will deliver schedule strategies and solutions that enhance project performance while fostering innovation and efficiency across the organisation.

What you'll do

Schedule Development & Maintenance

  • Oversee the creation and validation of baseline schedules for all regional projects in collaboration with project teams, GCs, and design consultants.
  • Ensure schedules fully represent project scope, key milestones, interfaces, and critical path logic.
  • Validate contractor and consultant schedules to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with DLR standards.

Schedule Risk & Forecasting

  • Lead schedule risk assessments (SRA) using quantitative methods to evaluate potential delays and impacts.
  • Identify schedule deviations early and develop mitigation or recovery strategies with project delivery teams.
  • Support scenario planning and "what-if" analysis to inform management decisions.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain regional schedule dashboards and performance metrics (SPI, milestone adherence, critical path variance).
  • Produce clear and concise executive-level schedule reports highlighting progress, slippage, and recovery actions.
  • Integrate schedule data with cost and risk reporting to support full project controls visibility.

Systems & Tools Management

  • Champion the use of enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Visilean, Buildots, Procore, OPi) and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Manage data integration between scheduling tools, Power BI dashboards, and cost/risk management systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation, data quality, and reporting efficiency.

Key Deliverables

  • Establish Schedule Improvement targets.
  • Regional master schedule and integrated programme plan
  • Critical path and milestone performance analysis
  • Schedule risk assessments and mitigation plans

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor, and develop the regional teams, ensuring consistent application of schedule standards.
  • Foster close collaboration with project managers, construction managers, procurement, and design teams to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Support training and capability-building initiatives in planning and scheduling within the region.

Schedule Governance:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of master schedules for all regional projects, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure alignment of GC and consultant schedules with corporate milestones, design deliverables, and commissioning requirements.
  • Drive the use of schedule risk analysis (SRA) and critical path monitoring to identify potential delays early.

Production Control:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration through the adoption of structured planning methodologies that encourage cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ensure the sub-regions have the correct training and capabilities to run the Production Control programme following the Production Control specifications.
  • Monitor and track productivity across the regional projects and share performance reports with the Sub-regional Leads to establish improvement plans.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and initiatives to drive alignment and cohesion in project execution.
     

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the CSA or MEPH engineering disciplines or equivalent experience in a related field such as Construction Management will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in either data centre or high-tech engineering delivery
  • Strong progressive management experience
  • A thorough understanding of the relationship between CSA elements of the scheme and primary mechanical, electrical and ICT elements and in particular the commissioning and IST of the same
  • Previous involvement in the schedule delivery of multiple large developments
  • Familiarity of gating processes/change control within an Owner Operator development organisation.
  • Proficiency in construction-related digital tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Primavera, Power BI, Procore, or similar).

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with DLR personnel at all levels with the confidence to explain and defend standardised tooling, Risk and Reporting decisions with internal stakeholders.
  • Succinctly and confidently communicate complex technical challenges at a range of levels of detail to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to inspire and align diverse teams.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to be involved in multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills with a pragmatic, yet structured approach to developing and appraising technical solutions.
