Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Goods In and Stock Room Porter to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing incoming shipments, organizing stock storage, and ensuring the smooth flow of inventory throughout the warehouse and retail environment.

You must be fit enough to lift boxes and assist moving furniture in the retail shop and warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods using RF scanners and inventory management systems to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Load and unload shipments efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques for heavy lifting.
  • Organize stock in designated storage areas, maintaining a clean, safe, and accessible warehouse environment through regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Manage inventory control by accurately recording stock movements, conducting regular stock counts, and updating inventory records to prevent discrepancies.
  • Prepare products for retail display by packaging, merchandising, and stocking shelves according to store standards.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes by coordinating outbound deliveries and ensuring timely dispatch of goods.
  • Support retail sales teams with product availability, inventory checks, and replenishment activities to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting store staff with product location inquiries or stock-related issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members regarding stock levels, safety procedures, and operational updates.
  • Support store maintenance tasks including cleaning work areas, organizing stock rooms, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse or retail experience is highly desirable; familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, load handling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate inventory control.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a valuable asset for diverse teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the warehouse or retail setting.
