Great Malvern, Worcestershire, United Kingdom IVC Evidensia Full time £20,000 - £70,000 per year

An opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic team at Avenue Veterinary Centre in Malvern on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a long-standing practice that can boast a fantastic reputation among the industry and local community. We're able to offer a welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata) for new hires, as well as a relocation allowance of £5000 for those that require it. The role offers a well-balanced caseload that's split between surgery and medicine.

Flexible working that offers real flex

We're all about helping you find the right balance between work and life. We understand life is about more than just work, we're here to make it simple for you to discover a balance that suits you. Whether you prefer a fixed rota or something more flexible, we're here to create the perfect solution just for you.   We are looking for someone to join the team on a full or part time basis with hours to suit the right applicant along with our shared 1:6 weekend rota. There's no out of hours or on call required for this position. There is an inpatient rota that we share among our vets. However, it's very rare that our vets are called out for this. Most inpatients are transferred to Vets Now.

About us

Our team consists of 4.5 FTE vets and nurses. Our Clinical Director, Hannah, has begun her medicine certificate, and one of our GP vets, Simon, is due to start his surgical certificate as well. We pride ourselves on supporting our staff by fostering their development in their chosen areas of clinical interest. Our fantastic support team includes an auxiliary nurse, three receptionists and a practice manager. If you were to join us, you'd have access to separate kennel areas for dogs, cats and small furies, separate dental facilities, theatre, x-ray, brand new ultrasound and  flexible endoscopy.  We work closely with a local charity, which is something you could also get involved in if it interests you.  All our staff benefit from being able to bring their own dogs to work with dedicated staff dog kennels.

Don't take our word for it here's what the team have to say:

Testimonial from Elise, who is moving on;

I joined Avenue Vets in 2023 after relocating across the country for my partner's job. Prior to that, I was in a position where I was starting to feel burnt out. Avenue Vets has truly reignited my passion for veterinary care, and I couldn't be more grateful for the supportive and welcoming team. Everyone here is not only friendly but genuinely invested in helping me grow into a well-rounded vet. I often joke with the team that if I could, I'd move the practice closer to my new home Avenue Vets has an excellent reputation in the community, and I'm proud to be part of such a dedicated team that goes above and beyond.
