Job description Full Time Senior Nursery Practitioner Required Level 3 or above with a child care qualification to apply

We are excited to be offering the post of a full time senior nursery practitioner to join our Abacus family. This position would be office based and room based, working alongside the manager and the other senior team. The successful candidate should be dedicated, inspirational, calm, organised, professional and a team player. The successful candidate will assist our exceptionally experienced and supportive management team to provide a happy and inspiring environment to ensure that all children receive the highest possible standards of care, nurturing and education. We are a family run, very successful independent business which can offer a more personal, positive and professional working environment.

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, all year round.

Experience:

  • Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and support to all nursery nurses to enable them to maintain and promote positive, professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers, and other professionals.

Promote our values and ethos to ensure a happy, child-centred, safe and stimulating environment is provided whilst meeting the individual needs of every child.

Promote an outstanding standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet all requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Safeguarding Welfare Requirements

To ensure that our thorough planning and assessment system is accurately maintained by the nursery practitioners, being supported by the senior team.

Support the provision of outstanding childcare practice in relation to special educational needs and inclusion, showing sound knowledge of SEND

Provide leadership and support to all nursery nurses to enable them to establish and maintain professional, positive working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers

Ensure the effective implementation of the nurseries key carer system and allocate key children appropriately

Ensure that all children are kept safe and that all of the staff team are confident to follow safeguarding procedures and you have a sound knowledge of safeguarding elements.

Proactively promote the nursery to current and potential parents, including in the wider community

Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake a shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery

To assist the Manager other senior staff and room lead members to actively support and promote the development of colleagues and students.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • An excellent understanding of child development and the ability to recognise and address any concerns.
  • Good knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience of successfully managing the delivery of the EYFS within our nursery environment
  • Professional, knowledgeable and inspirational in promoting the learning and development of young children
  • Excellent role model and team leading skills, prioritising tasks effectively
  • Sound knowledge of ICT
  • Two satisfactory references, one must be from most recent employer.
