We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front of House Assistant to join our team at The Prince of Wales Hotel, a recently refurbished 38-bedroom independent hotel located along the A38 near Berkeley.

The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout their stay. This position plays a key role in creating memorable guest experiences and supporting the smooth daily operation of our front-of-house activities.

Full-time – one week 5 days, the next week 6 days

Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, creating a friendly and professional first impression
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, managing reservations efficiently
  • Handle guest enquiries and provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions
  • Prepare and serve breakfast for hotel guests, ensuring a high standard of presentation and service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception and lobby areas
  • Support the team by managing phone and email bookings accurately
  • Collaborate with housekeeping, kitchen, and management teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Carry out administrative tasks, including record-keeping and data entry
  • Assist with preparing for breakfast duties for the following morning

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of hotel or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Confident using computer systems and booking platforms
  • Positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
