Overview

We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using both hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and ensure vehicles comply with safety regulations.
  • Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve testing processes and enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
