Here at the Marquis pub and kitchen, we are seeking a talented, reliable, and motivated Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great food, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. This role involves preparing and plating food to order, maintaining exceptional cleanliness, and supporting the Head Chef with menu development and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing fresh vegetables, house made sauces and basic butchery and meat prep.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently to the highest standard, in line with our recipes and service expectations.
  • Accurately box takeaway orders ensuring presentation, portioning, and packaging meet our brand's quality.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop new winter menu items, daily specials, and seasonal offerings.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in accordance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas consistently meet and exceed our five-star cleanliness standards.
  • Adhere to all food safety, allergen, and sanitation procedures as required by law and company policy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally within a pub or takeaway setting.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently during high-volume service periods.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards with a current Food Safety Certificate (preferred).
  • A keen eye for detail in food presentation and cleanliness.
  • Team player with good communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
