The Directorate of Urgent Care is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Advanced Clinical Practitioner with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, and Non Medical prescribing qualification to join our established and rapidly expanding team on Medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).

The SDEC model aims to reduce unnecessary admissions, ensuring patients are cared for in the right place at the right time., working across a 7 day service. Providing SDEC in a planned way enhances patient flow, improves performance, reduces length of stay and reduces risk of hospital harm. With a focus on admission avoidance, keeping people in their own homes, with supported discharge, expedited investigations in the management of acute illness. This allows the Trust to allocate resources effectively.

At North Manchester we strongly believe in the role of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner. With protected non-clinical time, we actively strive to provide an environment that will develop you as an autonomous practitioner, gaining the clinical skills essential for the role and working within the four pillars of advanced practice.

You will be supported by a diverse team of Acute Medical Doctors, ACP's, Nursing team with senior Medical Consultant oversight, autonomously assessing, investigating and managing same day emergency medical patients. The role also involves coordination of the unit, receiving referrals from ED, GP's, other ward/clinic areas and appropriately advising/scheduling the correct clinical area. There will be opportunity to develop own personal skillset, procedural, management, teaching and involvement in pathway/service development. There is potential to expand into other areas of practice.
