Summary

'3PL Supervisor' role at National Veterinary Services Ltd. is based in the UK and plays a vital part in overseeing our logistics and distribution operations. This position supports our mission to deliver exceptional service to veterinary practices and animal health laboratories, ensuring efficient supply chain management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

1. Performance

2. Ensure efficient operations to maximise productivity and reduce costs.

3. Maintain accuracy and quality standards to minimise customer complaints.
4. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance throughput and efficiency.
5. Optimise staff utilization and resource planning.

6. Monitor and improve departmental KPIs using data-driven insights.

7. Leadership

8. Foster a positive leadership culture and promote a 'can-do' attitude across the team.

9. Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and Trainers to achieve operational targets and uphold company values.
10. Motivate and engage staff to reduce turnover and maximise potential.
11. Communicate team goals clearly and identify training needs.
12. Manage performance effectively, including challenging underperformance when necessary.

13. Champion personal and team development opportunities.

14. Systems & Technology

15. Develop strong knowledge of ERP and WMS systems, particularly KiSoft and/or Access 3PL software.

16. Train and support team members to use WMS and ERP systems efficiently.

17. Administration

18. Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed within deadlines.

19. Resolve queries related to orders and stock issues promptly.

20. Maintain and update departmental records and reports.

21. Communication

22. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

23. Conduct team meetings and daily briefs to communicate best practices and expectations.
24. Address team feedback, resolve conflicts, and manage absenteeism in line with HR policies.

25. Carry out investigations, disciplinary hearings, and welcome-back discussions when required.

26. Health & Safety

27. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote awareness throughout the warehouse.

28. Maintain and update risk assessments and fire safety documentation.

29. Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the workplace.

30. Other Duties

31. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures at all times.

32. Report any issues affecting stock, premises, or staff security.
33. Support other operational departments as required.
34. Act as deputy for the Fulfilment Services Manager during absences.
35. Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the business.

Personal attributes:Qualifications, experience, skills, knowledge, behaviours and competencies required to fulfil the role

• Ideally at least 3 years' experience working in an operational logistics or 3PL environment.
• Self motivated and results focused/driven.
• High attention to detail.
• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Able to work on their own and within a team.
• Excellent PC skills – Proficient with the use of Microsoft office particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of KiSoft WMS and/or Access 3PL software.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Proficient knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Mature, credible individual who is capable of communicating at all levels within the organisation and commanding respect from their staff
• Employee Training Experience
• Desirable – GCSE Grade A – C, NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or working towards.
