Day Shift Supervisor - Leading 3PL Distributor - Bury St Edmunds

**Client Details**

Page Personnel are working in partnership with a UK leading 3PL and key FMCG service provider throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland helping deliver a tailored service.

They are now on the lookout for a Day Shift Supervisor to join their rapidly growing network and play a key-part in supervising the team and supporting further expansion.

**Description**

Key responsibilities for the Day Shift Supervisor in **Bury St Edmunds**;
- Work with the customers in order to understand their requirements and expectations
- Understand our customer's issues and help drive business improvements
- Assist the managers and other supervisors in their roles.
- To train, develop and motivate staff within framework of Job Descriptions, and competency and skills matrix.
- Optimise the utilisation of all assets across the operations.
- To ensure that all staff on site operate within all current legislation
- produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Work with contract managers and or supervisors to ensure H&S management best practice is applied, and investigations and correction actions are applied rigorously
- Ensure staff act and conduct themselves in a safe manner in accordance with H&S guidelines
- Ensure site housekeeping is carried out regularly
- Ensure MHE is checked daily before use
- Support the team to ensure that stock records are kept accurate and up to date
- Ensure operational activities (intake, put away, pick, pack, label, despatch) are conducted in an accurate and timely manner
- Monitor and manage staff productivity and accuracy and take action as required

**Profile**
- Have a logistics distribution and supply chain background - **Essential**:

- Have managed in excess of 10+ warehouse colleagues previously.
- Numerate and literate with a good level of education to GCSE standard or equivalent - **Essential**:

- Familiar with various Warehouse Management Systems
- Relevant history of people-management, having previously worked at a supervisor level either within Century or in a previous role - **Essential**:

- Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of an organisation
- Commutable to Bury St Edmunds.

**Job Offer**

This position offers:

- Salary - £25,000 - £26,000 based on background and relevant qualifications
