Job Introduction
As the Partnership Agency Growth Lead for The i Paper and New Scientist, your core mission is to unlock and grow high-value partnership opportunities across key agency hubs. Working within Mail Metro Media's partnership team, you'll drive innovative commercial strategies, identify new business opportunities, and expand the reach and relevance of these premium brands within the agency landscape.
You'll be instrumental in growing revenue through strategic partnerships, increasing brand and brief count.
This is a senior role with a sharp focus on creating and converting partnership new business opportunities for The i Paper and New Scientist across digital, print, and multi-platform channels.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and unlock new commercial partnerships for The i Paper and New Scientist
- Grow agency brand count and brief count through proactive outreach and key client mapping
- Create strategic partnership proactives, tailored to the editorial strengths and audience profiles of both titles
- Elevate the positioning of The i Paper and New Scientist within partnership and planning teams within agency groups
- Champion best-in-class cross-platform partnership solutions, working closely with internal teams to bring big ideas to life
- Drive new revenue growth through insight-led, innovative commercial storytelling

Key Technical Competencies
- Deep understanding of the The i Paper and New Scientist brand propositions and audiences
- Proven track record of unlocking new business via partnerships
- Senior-level agency and client relationships
- Ability to identify and influence key decision-makers and brand stakeholders
- Insight and data-first approach
- Highly skilled in crafting strategic, data-informed partnership proposals and presentations
- Experience leading high-impact pitches, campaign strategies and award entries
- Strong grasp of digital, print, social and commerce revenue streams
- Comfortable collaborating with internal teams including Insight & Data, Design, Editorial, Ad Ops, Project Management, Client & Category and Planning
- Experienced in pipeline forecasting and driving conversion from pitch to PCA
- Track record of delivering and exceeding revenue targets across complex partnerships
- A strategic thinker who can translate client objectives into commercially viable, editorially aligned ideas
Experience Required
- 5–6+ years' experience in partnership sales, ideally within media or publishing
- Strong agency relationships and proven new business development success
- A solid understanding of the UK media landscape, particularly in quality news and science journalism
- Experience working across both print and digital platforms, with a passion for storytelling and innovation
