Geotechnical Engineer

Join a dynamic and collaborative Geotechnical Engineering team, where you'll contribute to the design of creative and efficient solutions across a wide range of major projects.

About the Role

In this position, you'll:

  • Provide expert geotechnical input to support clients in delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically sound engineering and infrastructure projects both in the UK and internationally.
  • Prepare high-quality deliverables such as specifications, design reports, and ground interpretation studies.
  • Undertake technical analyses, including soil-structure interaction, numerical modelling, substructure, and earthworks design.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to colleagues, supporting professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver fully integrated, efficient designs.
  • Manage and lead the ground engineering aspects of projects, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery.
  • Engage with clients, contributing to strong relationships and supporting business development activities.

About You

You'll hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and bring enthusiasm, initiative, and a drive to achieve high-quality outcomes. You'll enjoy working in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively.

You'll also bring:

  • Proven geotechnical design experience across a variety of project types.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and sustainable design solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in soil and rock engineering, including foundation design, slope stability, and underground structures.
  • The confidence to lead and develop design capability within a team.
  • Professional registration (e.g. Chartered status or working towards it) with a relevant institution such as the ICE.
