As we continue to invest in revitalising our historic properties and launching new guest experiences, we are seeking a dynamic Finance Officer to lead revenue growth, strengthen market positioning, and drive restaurant reputation.

The Role

The Mid-Level Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant management of financial operations across GHE's UK sites. This individual will interface directly with the Manila finance office to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting, support daily income auditing, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff. The role requires strong experience in hospitality accounting, with a minimum of five years' professional experience.

The successful candidate will maintain financial integrity across all sites, support tax compliance, and contribute to management reporting and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsabilites

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Daily and weekly data entry for revenue and expenditure using the local base currency; act as a daily income auditor to supplement or replace existing processes.
  • Maintain and update general ledgers using Oracle NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Manila office procedures.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
  • Analyse budgets, generate expense reports, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closures and prepare supporting documents for audits.

Compliance & Taxation

  • Ensure compliance with UK VAT and indirect taxation regulations, including quarterly VAT returns and annual tax returns.
  • Confirm tax compliance with UK tax authorities.
  • Manage council and property tax filings (VOA) and related payments.
  • Ensure all financial reporting and company statements meet statutory requirements.

Liaison with Manila Office

  • Interface with the Manila finance team to ensure timely and accurate updates to the general ledger, bank reconciliations, and daily income reporting.
  • Maintain training and update schedules for Oracle NetSuite to align processes across locations.

Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Entry-Level Accounting staff, including task allocation, training, and support.
  • Assist in ad hoc finance projects as required by the Financial Controller or Country Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting, preferably within hospitality.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage or Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of UK VAT and taxation, including quarterly VAT returns and annual tax submissions.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
