Summary
In the role of Finance and Payroll Assistant, you will be integral to the finance and payroll functions of the company. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide timely and accurate support with payroll, general financial administration and assist in reporting, and reconciliation.
The role is 20 hours per week, hybrid working in Hampshire.
Your core skills in Xero and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel will be essential for managing financial records and producing reports. Strong numeracy and organisational skills will enable you to ensure processes are managed efficiently to support the charity's effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Management of the purchase ledger and post
- Creation of monthly client invoices
- Support management of the finance team's email account including dealing with client queries
- Assist with daily bank reconciliation
- Assist with month end and year end activities
- Prepare basic financial reports e.g. monthly performance against budget
- Petty cash management and reconciliations
- Support with payroll processing and reporting
- Maintain orderly filing of financial documents
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and data entry as required
Key Competencies:
- Experience of finance and payroll administration (BrightPay)
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Xero financial software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Team player with a collaborative and proactive approach.
