Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our vibrant team as a Front of House Receptionist / Bar Staff. This role is perfect for someone with a customer-focused mindset, a friendly personality, and a desire to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

In this dual role, you will handle both reception duties and bar responsibilities, working up to 40 hours per week, including some weekends. Additional hours/shifts may also be available.

Responsibilities

Reception Duties:

  • Welcome, check in/out guests, and provide access to the hostel.
  • Manage customer queries in person and over the phone with a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Ensure that the reception and all public areas are clean, organized, and welcoming for guests.
  • Prepare booking confirmations, manage reservations, and generate reports as needed.
  • Hand over to night staff at the end of the shift, ensuring a smooth transition.

Bar Duties:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
  • Engage with guests, make drink recommendations, and answer questions regarding menu items.
  • Maintain and restock bar inventory, and inform the manager of any stock shortages.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all transactions.
  • Adhere to the cleaning schedule and ensure all bar procedures are followed.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, particularly in reception with Cloudbeds system is required. Experience as a bartender/barista, is preferred but not essential. Cocktail-making and barista skills are advantageous.
  • Customer Service: A people person who genuinely enjoys engaging with guests and making them feel at home.
  • Reliability and Adaptability: Essential qualities to succeed in this role.
  • Appearance: Smart, professional appearance to represent our brand positively.
  • Computer Skills: Comfortable with computer use, with a good telephone manner.
  • Language: Proficient in English with strong communication skills.
  • Passion and Drive: Enthusiastic about hospitality, with a desire to learn and grow within our expanding team.
