Do you want to play a leading role in transparency and accountability within the energy sector? Ofgem is looking for an Information Rights and Correspondence Manager to join us and help uphold the public's right to know, ensuring our communications are clear, timely and aligned with our statutory responsibilities.

We're offering a permanent position with the opportunity to lead and shape a high-impact, public-facing team that sits at the core of our communications function. This is a great opportunity to influence how we respond to information rights requests and parliamentary correspondence, working across the organisation on varied and engaging work.
You'll play a central role in maintaining public trust and ensuring we meet our legal obligations under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and data protection legislation. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll help uphold our commitment to openness, accuracy and fairness in how we communicate with the public and elected representatives.
Job descriptionWe're looking for someone with a strong understanding of information rights legislation, confident communication skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You'll need the credibility to advise teams on complex issues and the judgement to recognise risks and reputational sensitivities.

Person specificationEssential:
- Experience of working with information rights requests and a sound knowledge of information rights legislation. Solid experience of working with information rights requests, including applying exemptions. (FOIA, EIR, GDPR) (LEAD)
- The ability to absorb complex information and communicate effectively orally and/or in writing, often to a non-expert audience, in a concise and clear way. (LEAD)
- Experience of managing and prioritising varied workloads to ensure that competing demands are met.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to build relationships and facilitate effective communications to actively develop and nurture excellent contacts across all teams within Ofgem.
- A proactive approach to identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
