Are you passionate about making a real difference?
At the Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA), we play a vital role in supporting hundreds of thousands of public sector workers and pensioners across Scotland. Every day, our work helps ensure financial security for those who serve our communities.
As an Agency of the Scottish Government, our core mission is to administer pensions for employees in the NHS, Teachers, Police, and Firefighters' pension schemes—people who dedicate their lives to public service.
Your Role as a Pension Administrator
This is a 23 month fixed term appointment.
You'll be a key part of our operational delivery team, ensuring members receive accurate and timely pension information. You'll deliver exceptional customer service by responding to member queries with clarity and care, while processing and analysing data from employers to keep records accurate and up to date. You'll make sure pensions are calculated and paid correctly and on time, and you'll also play a vital role in delivering the 2015 McCloud Sargeant Remedy project—a landmark initiative shaping the future of public sector pensions.
Why Join Us?
- Impact that matters: Your work directly supports those who keep Scotland running—teachers, healthcare professionals, emergency services.
- Professional growth: Develop your skills in customer service within a supportive team environment.
- Inclusive culture: Be part of a diverse, collaborative workplace committed to fairness and respect.
- Work-life balance: Enjoy flexible working options and excellent benefits as part of the Scottish Government.
What You'll Do
- Support our members by providing clear, accurate pension information through webform, email and call enquiries — using your knowledge of complex scheme regulations to calculate benefits and payments throughout the pension lifecycle.
- Handle data with care by collecting, analysing, and processing member information accurately and securely, ensuring all records comply with data protection regulations.
- Manage requests efficiently by prioritising queries from members and third parties, resolving issues promptly and in line with scheme rules, agreed procedures, and deadlines.
- Apply your expertise in pension schemes to administer a variety of casework—reviewing member records, making informed decisions, and ensuring everything meets the Agency's high standards.
