Assistant Flood Risk Officer | 9315 | Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027 | 37 hours per week | £28,598 to £31,022 per annum (Scale F) | County Hall, Norwich

Norfolk County Council as Local Lead Flood Authority (LLFA) is seeking to recruit an Assistant Flood Risk Officer to provide support to the existing Flood and Water Team to meet its responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. It is expected that the majority of your work will be focusing on assisting in the production of flood investigation reports and the delivery of flood mitigation projects to protect people, property and infrastructure. Your role will also include carrying out site visits, assisting with surveys and managing a case load of ordinary watercourse enquiries. This varied role would suit a proactive individual who is confident managing their own workload to meet strict deadlines. An ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. You may have previously worked in a related field (engineering/hydrology/environment). This is not essential, but we are looking for someone with experience of using GIS systems, and ideally experience of reviewing technical documents/reports/plans.

For an informal discussion regarding the role please call and ask for Sarah Sims.
